Can you play regular xbox platinum games on the xbox 360?

My little brother got an xbox 360 for christmas and he use to love this game, but they only make it for the regular xbox and xbox (platinum hits?). I was wondering if xbox platinum hits games would work on the 360? thanks alot
Some original X-Box games work, some don’t, but whether or not it’s a Platinum Hit is irrelevant.

Yeah i played some but you cant just fritz in a store getting it and playing go look online im sure they will show you

There’s no difference between the original and the hits version of a game other than packaging. Platinum hits are just a reprint of a popular game. But it would help to know what the game is… you’ll have to check the compatibility list to see whether or not the 360 can run it. Not all original xbox games can run on the 360.
Also, if your brother got the 360 Arcade (and thus doesn’t have a hard drive), he can’t play original xbox at all. You have to install an update before the 360 is backwards compatible, and the update requires a hard drive.
